President Mohamed Nasheed has established the Social Health Insurance Scheme board, in accordance with the Article 19 of the Act number 15/2011 (the National Social Health Insurance Scheme Act).
The President has also appointed members to the Social Health Insurance Scheme Board.
Minister of State for Health and Family Ibrahim Waheed was appointed as the Chairman of the board.
Other members appointed to the board are, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Finance And Treasury Ali Shareef, Dheena Moosa as the member representing Insurance Sector, Assistant Director at the National Social Protection Agency Fathimath Sahudha, Hassan Manik as the member representing finance and investment sector, Dr Abdul Maliku from the Diabetics And Cancer Society, and Chief Executive Officer at the National Social Protection Agency Mariyam Shafeeq.
