President Mohamed Nasheed has said that it is important to utilise the financial aid provided to NGO’s for the betterment of the society and the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the ‘Stakeholder Conference on Children’s Shelters 2012’, President Nasheed emphasised the importance of caring for the children in our community. He further said the main aim of the monthly financial assistance provided to single mothers as well as guardians of orphaned children, was to provide means for the children to be brought up in proper homes and to provide the single mothers with social security.
President Nasheed also reiterated the pressing need for a system to monitor and audit the financial assistance being provided by the government.
