President Mohamed Nasheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of Nigeria following the bomb attack in Kano Friday.
President Nasheed's message to President Jonathan reads as follows:

I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the terrorist attacks by militant Islamists in Kano, northern Nigeria, resulting in significant loss of life and leaving many more injured. The Government and the people of the Maldives condemn this outrage in the strongest terms, and we express our firm solidarity with the Government and people of Nigeria.
At this time of distress, our hearts and prayers are with the members of the bereaved families as well as with all those who have been injured in the attack.
