President Mohamed Nasheed and First Lady Laila Ali attended a charity concert by Oscar-winning musician A R Rahman, as Guests of Honour. Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh K Rosaiah was also at the concert.
The proceeds from the concert will go to a fund to help recent flood victims of the State of Andra Pradesh.
At the concert, the President was called on stage to present Rahman with a memento.
Also, the President was presented with a memento by G M Rao, chairman of GMR Group, while First Lady Laila was presented with a memento by Mrs Rao.
The concert took place in Hyderabad on Saturday. The President visited Hyderabad today before returning to the country on Sunday.
First Lady is in India on a separate visit.
