President Mohamed Nasheed has today seen off the Maldivian national football squad taking part in the SAFF Championship 2011.
Prior to the team’s departure, the President met with players and officials of the team, and expressed his encouragements, saying that the foremost duty of the national team is to play a disciplined and competent game.
SAFF Championship will be held from December 2 to 11, in New Delhi. The Maldivian team’s first match will be played against the Nepalese team, on the 2 December.
