President Mohamed Nasheed has said that the Maldivian National Team will not only work towards winning SAFF championship, but will also aim to enhance national spirit. The President made this statement while addressing the Maldivian National Football Team participating in this years SAFF championship.
At a special function held in Muleeaage this evening, the President revealed that sports is an important instrument in aiding to boost national pride, and one of the goals of the Maldivian Football Team is to build a nation that everyone can be proud of.
The President added that the Maldivian government is willing to aid the boost of the National Team to greater heights, and to improve the quality of all sports played in the Maldives.
The President further wished the Maldivian National Football Team a victory in the upcoming SAFF Championships.
