President Mohamed Nasheed has today opened a cultural centre in Hithadhoo of Addu City, which exhibits different aspects of the Maldivian culture and tradition.
Prior to the opening of the Hithadhoo Cultural Centre, the President attended Eid prayers in Feydhoo this morning. Following the prayers President Nasheed toured Feydhoo and Maradhoo, and extended Eid greetings to the people of the islands.
President Nasheed later attended a breakfast organized in Maradhoo on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. The President also cut a special cake at the breakfast, to celebrate the upcoming SAARC Summit.
In an interview given to Adduonline, the President said that the establishment of infrastructure in Addu City is being carried out in varying stages of a larger developmental scheme. The President gave this interview while taking part in the Addu City State Square Cleaning programme this afternoon.
The President and the First Lady also took a bicycle tour of the Hithadhoo main road this afternoon, following the completion of the construction of the road.
