President Mohamed Nasheed has arrived back in Malé after concluding his visit to the United Kingdom to participate in the annual conference of the British Conservative Party.

Yesterday, the President addressed at the annual conference of the Conservative Party in Manchester. In his address, the President highlighted the economic situation in the Maldives, the democratic reform movement, and climate-change.

In his speech, referring to the shared policies with the Conservative Party, the President said, “Quality of governance is now the key”.

During his visit, the President met with the Leader of the Conservative Party David Cameron and discussed the developmental efforts and the work being done to deliver the five pledges of the government.

The President also met with the British Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague, and the Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Greg Clark.
