President Mohamed Nasheed has relocated the Head Office of Northern Utilities Limited to Felivaru of Lhaviyani atoll. The President made this change as part of the government’s plans to shift head offices of utilities companies to the provinces they serve, instead to being based in Male’.
Speaking at the ceremony held in Felivaru yesterday, the President noted that the purpose of relocating head offices was to bring the service providers closer to the people.
In his speech, President Nasheed highlighted the success of the 7 utilities companies established at the 7 provinces of the country. He especially thanked the Chairman of the board of directors of the Northern Utilities Limited, the Deputy Managing Director and other members of the board for their competent service.
President Nasheed visited Naifaru yesterday as part of his current tour of some islands of Lhaviyani atoll, and observed the administration of Madhrasathul Ifthithaah, Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital and Lhaviyani Atoll Clinic.
