President Mohamed Nasheed has extended his sincere condolences to the families of the deceased, in the tragic drowning of four students and Principal Ali Nazim of Hiriyaa School.
In his message, the President said that he learnt of the drowning of the four students and the Principal of Hiriyaa School, with deep shock and profound sadness. The President sent his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the government and himself.
President Nasheed also declared the national flag to be flown at half mast for three days from today.
The tragic accident happened while the students were on a school camp in Huraa of Kaafu Atoll.
