Outgoing Director of UNESCO and Former Minister of Education of Mauritius, Mr. Amroogam Parsuramen has paid a courtesy call on President Mohamed Nasheed today.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office, talks were mainly focused on increasing bilateral cooperation and further strengthening collaborations between both countries, especially in the areas of higher education, trade and economic development.
At the meeting, Mr. Amroogam Parsuramen praised the efforts of the Maldivian government in its efforts to promote the values of democracy, human rights and garner regional cooperation in an international arena.Additionally, the President highlighted upon the upcoming SAARC Summit, which is to be held in the Maldives this year.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed, Chief of Staff Ahmed Mausoom and Advisor on Political Affairs Mohamed Shihab.
