The cabinet has today decided to mark the Fishermen’s day on October 16th, starting this year, after deliberating on a paper presented by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture at today’s cabinet meeting. The decision was made as Fishermen’s Day is now marked on the 10th of December, which collides with the International Human Rights Day.

At today’s meeting, the cabinet also decided, to hand over the Convention Centre being established in Addu City, to the Addu City Council, to maintain and provide the services in a competitive bidding process.
