President Mohamed Nasheed has this afternoon inaugurated the Male’ City Council Office. The ceremony was held at Galolhu Billoorijehige building, where the Male’ City Council Office is located.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President noted that more than one third of the government’s development projects take place in Male’, as more than one third of the country’s population, were living in here. President Nasheed also stated that the City Council was responsible to the people of Male’, in providing them with a better way of life, and that the City Council’s administrative system, under the decentralisation act, will allow easier means of addressing the issues in Male’.
