President Mohamed Nasheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Pratibha Patil of India following the bomb blasts in Mumbai.
President Nasheed's message to President Patil reads as follows:

It was with deep shock and outrage that I learned of the bomb blasts in Mumbai resulting in the death of many people and injury to many more. The Government and people of the Maldives join me in condemning these terrorist attacks in the strongest terms, and we express our firm solidarity with you, the government and the people of India.
At this hour of distress, our hearts and prayers are with the members of the bereaved families as well as with all those who have been injured in these attacks.
