President Appoints Hassan Shujau as the Minister of State for Transport and Communication; Makes Other Senior Appointments

President Mohamed Nasheed has appointed Mr Hassan Shujau as the Minister of State for Transport and Communications today.

Speaking after the presentation of the Letter of Appointment to Mr Shujau, the President expressed his confidence in Mr Shujau’s ability to discharge the duties of his new post.

The President said he was especially pleased that Mr Shujau, after working in another political party, decided to join the government, to promote the government policies and work for the progress of the people and the country.

The President has also appointed Mr Adam Manik as the Minister of State for Finance and Treasury and Mr Aslam Mohamed Shakir as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Mr Manik previously held the post of the Minister of State for Transport and Communication, and Mr Shakir was in the post of the Minister of State for Finance and Treasury.
