Hungarian Ambassador accredited to the Maldives Dr. Geza Palmai has paid his farewell call on President Mohamed Nasheed today.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office in the afternoon, the President expressed his gratitude for the important work done by the Hungarian Ambassador in co-coordinating and furthering ties between the two countries.

At the meeting, discussions were generally focused current political situation in the Maldives, highlighting consolidation of democracy and strengthening the existing system of governance in the Maldives.

The Hungarian Ambassador praised the President’s commitment to promote democracy and good governance.

The Ambassador noted the opportunities to increase business engagements between the Maldives and Hungary, especially in tourism and fisheries sector.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed, Foreign Policy Advisor Dr Ahmed Shaheed and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Haula Ahmed Didi.
