Swedish Ambassador to the Maldives Lars-Olof Lindgren has paid a courtesy call on President Mohamed Nasheed today.
Discussions during the meeting at the President’s Office were focused on upholding the system of democratic governance and promoting business and trade relations in order to strengthen the growth of the economy.
Speaking at the meeting President Nasheed highlighted the government’s dedication to uphold democratic values and ensure the continuity of the young democratic system.
At the meeting the President also noted the prospects business opportunities in the Maldives for Swedish investors and importance boosting the economic activity between the two countries.
The Ambassador congratulated the President on his commitment to preserve democratic governance and promote human rights.
The Ambassador also spoke on the importance of increasing the people’s awareness on the current political climate of the country.
