President Mohamed Nasheed, as part of the tour to Laamu Atoll, has visited Maamendhoo.
President Nasheed’s visit to Maamendhoo is the first visit by a President of the Maldives in over 29 years.
During the visit to Maamendhoo the President met Maamendhoo Island Council and discussed the development of the island as well as the arrangements required to deliver government programmes and services through the Council.
While in Maamendhoo, the President visited Maamendhoo School and Health Centre.
