President Mohamed Nasheed has this afternoon departed on a tour of Thaa Atoll. He will visit Dhiyamingili, Madifushi and Vilufushi of Thaa Atoll during his two day tour.
The President will meet the island councils of three islands to discuss the necessary arrangements to enable the delivery of government services through island councils.
He will also exchange views with councils on the ongoing and proposed development programmes in the islands.
As part of his visits to the islands, the President will inspect educational, health and social services infrastructure in the islands.
