As part of his visit to Australia, Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with Australian Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Natural resources, Water & Energy and Minister for Trade, Mr Michael Choi.
During the meeting, Dr Waheed briefed Mr Choi in the issues of concern such as the environmental problems faced by the Maldives and the government’s efforts to overcome those problems.
Mr Choi ommended Maldives attempt to become carbon neutrality by 2020 and said that there were many renewable energy companies in Australia that could provide strong sustainable solutions to the Maldivian economy.
During his visit to Australia, Dr Waheed also gave an interview to Ethical Investor Magazine today.
