Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed, as part of his ongoing visit to Fuahmulah, has met with the members of “Open Hand”, a non government organization working for the prevention of drug abuse and an outreach programme for the recovery of narcotic addiction.

During the meeting, the Vice President informed the organisation on programmes planned by the government with regard to drug prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare.

Members of “Open Hand” exchanged views with the Vice President about their current programmes and constraints in providing community-based treatment.

The Vice President also visited Fuahmulah Hospital, and Fuahmulah Family and Children’s Service Centre.
