The Canadian High Commissioner pays her farewell call on the President

The Canadian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Ms Angela Bogdan has paid her farewell call on President Nasheed this morning.

In the meeting, the President and the High Commissioner discussed on the ways of strengthening bilateral relations and on possible areas of cooperation between the Maldives and Canada.
President Nasheed expressed his appreciation for the High Commissioner’s contribution to strengthening the friendly ties that exist between the Maldives and Canada.

Further, the President briefed the High Commissioner on the status of the economy and the measures that the government was taking to alleviate budget expenditure.

Ms Bogdan said that it was a great pleasure to serve the Maldives as her country’s High Commissioner to the Maldives. She further commended the President’s efforts to consolidate the principles of democracy and good governance in the Maldives and noted that the President had “accomplished so much is such a short period of time”.
