The Maldives welcomes the international coalition's enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973, designed to protect the people of Libya, and hopes that the resolution can be enforced with minimum civilian casualties.
The Maldives reiterates its desire to see a swift end to Col. Gaddafi's regime and hopes that the people of Libya will soon enjoy fundamental human rights as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
