President Mohamed Nasheed has officiated the Mauritius National Day celebrations yesterday. He was also accompanied at the events by First Lady Laila Ali.
President Nasheed is currently visiting Mauritius on the invitation from Prime Minister of Mauritius Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam to officiate the country’s National Day celebrations.
Mauritius celebrates its National Day on 12 March, marking the anniversary of the country’s independence from British rule in 1968 and the establishment of a parliamentary republic in 1992.
The colourful National Day celebrations in Mauritius yesterday were also attended by the President, the Prime Minister and other dignitaries of Mauritius.
