Malaysian High Commissioner accredited to the Maldives Mr Rosli Ismail has paid farewell call on Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed today.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office this afternoon, the Vice President spoke on the establishment of the first ever university in the Maldives and expressed interest to cooperate with other Malaysian universities.
The Vice President and the Malaysian High Commissioner also discussed collaborating on administrative and technical projects to jointly strengthen the educational experience of the two countries.
Highlighting the exponential increase in the number of Maldivians residing in Malaysia, especially for education, Dr Waheed thanked the Malaysian government for its hospitality for the many Maldivians travelling to Malaysia.
He noted that majority of institutions participated the Maldives Education Fair held in recently in Male’ and Addu City were Malaysian institutes.
Vice President Dr Waheed also thanked Mr Ismail for his efforts to further strengthen the close friendly relations that exist between the Maldives and Malaysia during his tenure as the Malaysian High Commissioner to the Maldives.
At the meeting, Mr Rosli Ismail thanked the President and government of the Maldives for the support given to him during his term as the High Commissioner.
