College of Islamic Studies to Operate under the Education Ministry

President Nasheed has moved the College of Islamic Studies under the Ministry of Education following the establishment of the Maldives National University.

College of Islamic Studies had previously functioned as a faculty of the Maldives College of Higher Education that was incorporated as the Maldives National University on 15th February 2010, as stipulated in the Maldives National University Act (Act number 3/2011).
