President Mohamed Nasheed, who is currently on a trip to Noonu Atoll, visited Fohdhoo and met with the people of the island.
 
At his meeting with the people of the island, President Nasheed discussed policies on decentralization and delegating more powers to the people. He emphasised the importance of elected local councils for island development.
 
The President briefed on government’s development projects for the islands. He also spoke on the progress of government’s key pledges and plans for the socio-economic development of the country.
 
During his visit to Fohdhoo, the President inquired about the general well-being of the people. Later he visited Fohdhoo School and met with senior officials of the school.
