President Mohamed has today formed the National Awards Committee.
Minister of Civil Aviation and Communication, Mr Mahmood Razi was appointed as the chairman of the committee. Other members of the committee include Mr Mohamed Naseem (Sikkagey); Mr Ahmed Ali Maniku; Mr Mohamed Nazeer; Ms Aishath Mohamed Solih; Ms Fathimath Afiya; Ms Aminath Shafana; from the President’s Office, Mr Mohamed Zuhair, Press Secretary, and Undersecretary Mr Hussain Amir.
At its meeting on 30 June 2009, the Cabinet had decided to confer awards of honour and awards of recognition for outstanding service to the public as a national award, starting from this year’s Republic Day.
