The Honourable Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, was accorded a ceremonial welcome to the Maldives on Tuesday morning.
The ceremony commenced at the Republic Square, where His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu formally received Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Students of Dharumavantha School presented a cultural performance, followed by a 21-gun salute by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The national anthems of Malaysia and the Maldives were played, followed by a Guard of Honour, and the presentation of host and visiting delegation dignitaries.
