The Honourable Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, has arrived in the Maldives on a State Visit at the invitation of His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was received by President Dr Muizzu at Velana International Airport (VIA). An official welcome ceremony will be held in his honour tomorrow.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold official talks with President Dr Muizzu focused on strengthening bilateral ties. The two leaders will also witness the exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and deliver press statements on the outcomes of their discussions.
This is the Prime Minister's maiden visit to the Maldives since assuming office in November 2022.
