President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred the National Award of Honour on three individuals and an organisation and the National Award of Recognition on eight individuals and one company. The awards were presented at the official ceremony held in HA. Utheemu, to commemorate this year’s National Day.

The National Award of Honour was conferred upon:
1. Mohamed Amir Ahmed – for contributions to the field of Dhivehi language and literature
2. Ibrahim Rasheed – for contributions to construction and architecture
3. Society for Health Education (SHE) – for contributions to the health sector
4. Najuma Hussain – for contributions to the field of news and information dissemination

The National Award of Recognition was conferred upon:
1. Uz Hawwa Latheef – for raising awareness of Islam, service to the faith, and religious education
2. Mohamed Naseer – for contributions to the field of Dhivehi language and literature
3. Command Sergeant Major Abdulla Saeed – for contributions to the field of Maldivian history
4. Mohamed Ahmed – for contributions to the health sector
5. Bison Maldives Private Limited – for contributions to construction and architecture
6. Arushad Ahmed – for contributions to communications and information technology
7. Aishath Naura – for contributions to the field of sports
8. Ismail Abdul Ghafoor – for contributions to the field of visual arts

Furthermore, the National Award of Recognition was conferred posthumously in memory of the late Ihusan Abdul Ghanee.

The recipients of the National Awards were selected by the National Awards Committee, established by the President.

For the National Award of Honour, the President presented a shield of honour, a badge of honour and a commemorative certificate. Recipients of the National Award of Recognition were presented with a plaque of recognition and a commemorative certificate.
