President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has issued a Decree amending the administrative jurisdiction of Addu City by excluding Savaaheli from the city’s administrative area to support tourism development.
The amendment was made through Decree No. 13/2026, issued under Section 56-1(a) of the Decentralisation Act (Act No. 7/2010), which empowers the President to determine and designate the jurisdictions of City and Island Councils.
Pursuant to the Decree, a revised chart reflecting the amended administrative jurisdiction of Addu City has been published in the Government Gazette.
