President Nasheed has today met with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford, Dr John Hood.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr Hood said that he was prepared to assist the Maldives in all areas related to the environment. Dr Hood also said that he would continue to liaise with the Maldivian High Commissioner in Britain on ways of providing further assistance in this regard.
At the meeting, President Nasheed briefed Dr Hood on the protective measures being put in place against the effects of climate change in the Maldives.
President Nasheed acknowledged Dr Hood’s decision to provide assistance to the Maldives in areas related to the environment. He also thanked the Oxford University for the opportunity to participate in World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment.
