President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that sustaining the Maldives National Service (MNS) Programme is a key Government policy aimed at nurturing a generation of self-confident, mentally and physically resilient, healthy, patriotic and responsible youth grounded in faith.
In a message shared on his official X account, the President extended his best wishes to the third batch of participants departing for their initial MNS training. He highlighted that the programme covers a wide range of areas, including national identity, responsible citizenship, Islamic values and discipline, leadership, physical fitness and other essential life skills.
Of the 1,785 students who applied during the second recruitment phase of the MNS, 352 departed as part of the third batch to undertake the three-month initial training programme at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Composite Training Centre in Lh. Maafilaafushi.
The cohort comprises 64 female and 288 male participants from 115 islands across 20 atolls.
