President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the graduates of the second batch of the Maldives National Service (MNS) Initial Training.
In a congratulatory post shared on his official X account, the President noted that the batch comprises 343 students from 112 islands across the Maldives, including 63 female and 280 male participants, of whom 113 are under the age of 18.
The second round of the three-month National Service Initial Training programme commenced in January and was conducted in Lh. Maafilaafushi. The programme, which seeks to create constructive opportunities for Maldivian youth, covers a wide range of subjects, including, national identity, responsible citizenship, religious education, leadership, first aid, firefighting, physical fitness, maritime skills, swimming, field exercises, and a range of other practical and stimulating activities.
The Maldives National Service is a national initiative of the President, with the aim of nurturing a generation of Maldivian citizens who are patriotic, grounded in Islamic values, and physically, spiritually, and mentally healthy and, cultivate a generation of workforce-ready, disciplined and resilient youth. The first batch of graduates completed MNS Initial Training in December 2025.
