President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that providing children with age-appropriate education and upbringing as they grow is a shared national commitment. He made the remarks in his address marking Children's Day.

In his address, the President stated that showing children genuine love means equipping them with religious and worldly knowledge to live as responsible individuals. He emphasised that protecting children is a shared responsibility, and urged everyone to guard against anything that could compromise a child's innocence.

The President added that parents and teachers must adopt a fresh approach to protect children from the dangers of the internet and modern technology.

He noted that the tools given to children for modern education and entertainment have, in some cases, caused serious and irreversible harm, and stressed the importance of unified efforts to build a healthy generation.

The President emphasised that the Government is consistently working to provide children with quality healthcare and education, ensuring every Maldivian child has the opportunity to grow up within the school system.

On this occasion, the President also shared a post on his X account, conveying warm wishes to the children of the Maldives and their families.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also conveyed her greetings on her X account, expressing confidence in the future of the nation. She added that as long as children are nurtured and guided, the future remains bright.
