Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has stated that the President’s pledges to citizens reflect a deep and unwavering commitment to the public. He made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony held to commence physical works on the harbour upgrading, boat beaching area development, and land reclamation project in GDh. Faresmaathoda.
Despite the challenges faced during the early stages of the Administration, the Vice President noted that priority has been placed on ensuring the provision of essential services and addressing immediate needs, alongside implementing programmes aimed at benefiting future generations under the President’s guidance.
He further noted that the President continues to work diligently and prudently to mitigate the impact of the ongoing global crisis on citizens.
The Vice President also reflected on the role of Parliament in advancing the Government’s policies. He observed that, upon assuming office, the previous administration faced a Parliament in which the majority of members belonged to the opposition. Nevertheless, he emphasised that this did not hinder progress, as Parliament proceeded to pass the national budget as proposed, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation and constructive engagement among members.
The Vice President also inaugurated the second phase of the island’s road development project.
