President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, describing senior citizens as valued assets in shaping the nation's future.
In a message shared via his official X account, the President emphasised that the experiences and wisdom of senior citizens are invaluable resources in building a prosperous future for the country. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to fostering communities across all islands that are safe, caring, and supportive for the elderly, while ensuring the wellbeing of citizens of every age group.
The President concluded his message with a prayer to Almighty Allah for the health, compassion, and wellbeing of all senior citizens.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also conveyed her greetings, reflecting on the profound role of elders in nurturing families and communities. She highlighted that their guidance, kindness, and life lessons bring strength and harmony, and prayed for the Maldives to remain a compassionate society that accords due respect and honour to its senior citizens.
