President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that Maldivians have been entrusted with the responsibility of passing on the nation’s most precious treasures of heritage to future generations.

In a post on X to mark National Heritage Day, the President highlighted Islam, the Dhivehi language, enduring traditions, local craftsmanship, heritage sites and the nation’s proud history as the most valuable elements of Maldivian heritage. He noted that these have been handed down to the present generation and stressed that preserving and bequeathing them to future generations is a solemn obligation.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also marked the occasion with a message on X, describing Maldivians as a people rooted in good values, discipline, industriousness and hard work.
