President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has ratified the Attorney General’s Office Bill, which was passed during the 32nd sitting of the first session of the 2025 parliamentary term on Thursday, May 15, 2025. With this ratification, a newly established legislative framework for the Attorney General’s Office has been introduced.
Following ratification, the Attorney General’s Office Act was published in the Government Gazette today. The Act will come into force 90 days from the date of its publication
