President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has encouraged all citizens to celebrate Eid by spreading acts of kindness. He made these remarks during his address commemorating Eid-ul-Fitr.

The President emphasised that, according to scholars, the primary purpose of Eid is to pay homage and express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to complete the fasting during the month of Ramadan. He added that the aims of Ramadan include uniting Muslims through acts of kindness, promoting sadaqat, exchanging gifts, and extending sincere good wishes.

The President urged all citizens to continue striving for self-improvement in the days ahead, as they had prayed to Almighty Allah during Ramadan. He advised everyone to ensure their actions remain within the boundaries of Islam while enjoying the joys of Eid and in all other endeavours. The President further reassured citizens of the Administration’s commitment to maintaining the Maldives’ esteemed reputation by upholding the teachings of Islam and the principles of the Holy Quran at the highest level.
