President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Saturday extended felicitations to police officers and their families on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the Maldives Police Service (MPS). The President conveyed these greetings via a social media post on his official X account.

In his post, the President commended the police for their unwavering dedication and responsible execution of national duties, day in and day out. He then extended felicitations to police officers and their families on the 92nd anniversary of the MPS.

The Administration is continuously striving to enhance police services across the nation. Since assuming office, it has established approximately 28 police posts on the islands. Furthermore, contracts were signed on 27 March 2025 to construct additional police stations. Currently, contracts are underway to build police stations on 83 islands. Of these, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is responsible for 21 islands, the Road Development Corporation (RDC) for 21 islands, and Fenaka Corporation Limited for 41 islands.

In addition, numerous efforts are underway to enhance the technical and academic skills of officers, as well as to strengthen resources to enhance capabilities.

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held last night as part of the celebrations to mark the MPS anniversary.
