President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appealed to the public to support one another in reforming society.

Speaking to residents of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo during his ongoing tour of South Nilandhe Atoll, the President addressed erroneous statements circulating about Government-led initiatives.

Responding to criticism regarding the Government's initiative to distribute tuna fish can cases, the President confirmed that, as in the previous year, discounts would be offered for water and electricity bills.

During his address, the President cited the consequences outlined in the Holy Quran and Hadith for those who spread false narratives. He emphasised the importance of reflection and critical thinking as instructed in Islam.

The President expressed concern that behavioural ills such as gossip, lies, and defamation have permeated society. He urged the public to use the upcoming Ramadan as an opportunity to rectify their conduct and behaviour, emphasising the need for mindful communication across all platforms.

In his concluding remarks, the President reiterated that mental, emotional, and spiritual development are the cornerstones of national development.
