Members of Kudahuvadhoo Council have stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to the Island is a vital component in actualising citizen’s hopes. The members made the statement in the meeting the President held with the Council at the Council Secretariat, Sunday evening, as the first stop in his visit to the islands of South Nilandhe Atoll. The President met the members of the Council, Women’s Development Committee and senior figures of Government institutions of the island.
The Council noted that this is the President’s third visit to the island, adding that the Council fully supported the President’s vision for national development. The Council appealed to the President to ensure that the projects that was initiated on this visit would continue without disruption. Additionally, the Council further appealed to create an industrial area in the island, as well as the creation of a fish processing facility and urgent solutions to erosion.
In the meeting, the Women’s Development Committee had thanked the Administration for their efforts to champion women’s development.
Speaking in the meeting, the President assured that the Administration will work on the issues raised by the Council. He added that special efforts will be made to ensure that urban centres would come into operation.
The Cabinet Members accompanying the President on this visit briefed the attendees on the latest progress of the developmental projects of the island.
Prior to the meeting, the President attended the ceremony to mark the construction of a new hospital building in the island. He also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the new branch of Bank of Maldives.
