President appoints a Member to the Judicial Service Commission

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today appointed Yazmeed Mohamed as a Member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in accordance with the powers granted to the President under Article 158 (h) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Article 3(8) of the Judicial Service Commission Act (Act 10/2008)

Prior to the ceremony, the President dismissed Mohamed Sameer from the Judicial Service Commission under Article 165 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Section 14(a) of Judicial Service Commission Act ( Act 10/2008)

Prior to his appointment, Yazmeed Mohamed took his oath in the presence of the President, with Honourable Supreme Court Justice Dr Mohamed Ibrahim administering the oath.

The President formally presented the appointment letter to Yazmeed during the ceremony.
