The National Awards Committee will open nominations for the "National Award for Public Service" on Sunday, February 16, and publish the award criteria in the Government Gazette.

Nominations are open until March 18 and can be submitted through the official designated application portal: http://apply.presidency.gov.mv.

Any individual who has worked in a government office, agency, or subsidiary where the Government holds the most shares for over 35 years is eligible for the award. Nominations may be filed by organisations or by individual nominees.

The President will award a shield, a badge of honour and a certificate as an award for service to the Government.

Similar to the previous years, the President has shared information with the National Awards Committee about long-serving state employees. This year, the list includes those who have served for over 42 years, while last year, it included those with more than 43 years of service.
