President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed on Tuesday morning for a three-day visit to the North Thiladhunmathi Atoll.
The President is set to tour several islands of the atoll, as well as hold meetings with the Atoll and Island Councils, Women's Development Committees, and Institutional Heads of the islands. He is to inquire about the unique developmental needs of each island and the citizens.
During this tour, the President will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands, including new Police posts, Council Secretariat buildings, and a cold storage facility. He will also launch NID and passport services, as well as initiate the Magey Solar project.
Additionally, agreements between Councils and the Bank of Maldives will be signed to commence ATM services, furthering the Administration's pledge to facilitate easier access to banking services across the nation.
The President will tour the islands of Dhihdhoo, Filladhoo, Hoarafushi, Ihavandhoo, Maarandhoo, Molhadhoo, Muraidhoo, Thakandhoo, Uligamu, and Utheemu.
This tour is part of the President's pledge for 2024 to engage with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities.
The President is accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials.
The tour is to be completed on Thursday.
