President appoints two members to the Elections Commission of Maldives

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed two members to the Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM).

The two members appointed by the President to the Election Commission are Mohamed Zahid and Abdul Rahman Salah Rasheed.

The member of the Election Commission is established under Article 167(a) of the Constitution of the Maldives. This member is appointed pursuant to Article 168 (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Maldives and in accordance with Section 4(a) of Act no. 8/2008 (Elections Commission Act).

Prior to issuing the letter of appointment, the oath of office was administered to Mohamed Zahid and Abdul Rahman Salah Rasheed by the Supreme Court Justice Hon Uz Mahaz Ali Zahir at a ceremony held at the President's Office today.
