President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday appealed for support from the residents of Fainu Island for the Administration’s airport development project. The President made this appeal during a meeting with the Fainu Island Council, Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of institutions at Fainu School.

During the meeting, the Council highlighted the most urgent needs of the island community. They emphasised the transportation difficulties faced by residents and requested the President to develop a comprehensive transportation system. Additionally, they sought the President’s intervention to resolve space constraints at the island’s harbour. Council members expressed their gratitude to the government for successfully completing the water and sewerage network project and the project to develop the school.

The President provided further details about the projects planned for Fainu through the Cabinet Ministers accompanying him on this tour.
