President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has articulated that the Administration’s development policy is rooted in a holistic developmental approach. He made these remarks while addressing the residents of Kinolhas in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.

The President, acknowledging the concerns expressed by children through notes regarding the lack of a children’s park on the island, underscored the Administration’s commitment to developing infrastructure, including children’s parks, on all islands equitably, without discrimination based on population size. Emphasising the Administration’s holistic development strategy, the President pledged to establish a children’s park on the island within the year. He further highlighted the government’s intention to implement programmes focused on wellness, cognitive development, and overall wellbeing.

Additionally, the President committed to constructing a futsal pitch and volleyball court to meet the residents’ needs. He also noted that the relevant ministry is currently formulating a plan to promote handball nationwide.

President Dr Muizzu outlined plans for collaboration between Kinolhas School, Kinolhas Council, and the Education Ministry to enhance educational infrastructure and resources on the island. He also emphasised the development of the health sector and efforts to establish a police presence on the island.

Furthermore, the President announced that the Administration would facilitate the extension of water and sewerage network connections to support the development of local tourism as envisioned by the residents. He also highlighted plans to establish public library services across the nation in phases.

During the event, the Bank of Maldives and Kinolhas Island Council signed an agreement to establish an ATM on the island.
